The Vocational Higher Secondary Education (VHSE) wing at GVHSS Kadakkal operates under the Directorate of Vocational Higher Secondary Education, Government of Kerala. VHSE programmes provide students with a unique combination of general education and vocational training, equipping them with job-ready skills.
Students who complete VHSE receive a government-recognized certificate that qualifies them for both employment and higher education. The curriculum includes both theory and extensive practical training in the chosen trade.
Two specialized vocational courses with hands-on training
Comprehensive programme covering crop science, horticulture, animal husbandry, soil science, and modern agricultural techniques. Students gain practical experience through school gardens, nurseries, and field visits to farms and agricultural research centres.
Focused programme developing knowledge and skills in sports science, physical fitness, coaching techniques, and sports management. Students gain expertise in athletics, team sports, yoga, and first aid through theoretical and practical sessions.
Admission through VHSCAP (Vocational Higher Secondary Centralized Admission Process) based on SSLC marks. Apply online during the admission window.
Two-year programme (VHSE First Year & Second Year), equivalent to Plus One and Plus Two. Combines general and vocational subjects.
Government-recognized VHSE certificate upon completion. Qualifies for higher education (degree programmes) and direct employment in the trade.
Agriculture: Farm management, horticulture, agricultural extension, agri-business. Physical Ed: Sports coaching, fitness training, PE teaching.
Extensive hands-on training with on-the-job training (OJT) component. Students work in real-world settings during the programme.
Government school with minimal fees. Free textbooks, noon meals, and scholarship schemes available for eligible students.
